"Why is this so hard to stand" she huffed to herself. Foxtail was sitting in the nursery pawing her bedding, she thought there was a thorn lodged in there. She sighed as she stooped looking and licked her big belly. "When will you guys come out?" she said out loud. It was lonely being the only queen in the den, not tons of visitors and she missed her warrior duties. Her favorite thing to do was hunt and fight. Kitting never used to be an option to her, she wanted to focus on her skills, train, train until she deserved to be leader. Love was never in her plans, though it didn't stop her from falling.
She ran names for her new lovely kits over in her head but nothing seemed right, she wanted to name one after her sister Squirrelheart but she also thought it was a tad bit petty. Her sister was the clan annoyance, she wasn't sure the clan would be happy with her choice of name for the future of Marshclan.
She finally decided to get up and walk around to stretch her legs. She walked around the camp wandering, not really looking for anything specifically. She wandered over to the fresh kill pile and picked out a small mouse. She hated taking big prey even though she got hungry, she didn't feel she deserved it since she wasn't providing for the clan herself.

Slitherpaw sat at the edge of camp, watching Foxtail emerge from the nursery and walk around aimlessly, before wandering to the fresh kill pile. She watched as Foxtail picked out the small mouse Slitherpaw had caught on a late night hunting trip the previous night. Her belly was swollen with her soon-to-come kits, and Slitherpaw seemed to be the only one who didn’t constantly visit her. Come to think of it, Slitherpaw had never spoken much to Foxtail. A few words here and there, but never a real conversation. She got the feeling they didn’t know one-another as well as they should. She licked her paw a few times, before getting up and hesitantly walking to the fresh-kill pile. She picked up a fish in her jaws, but set it down indecisively. What did you say to start a conversation with someone…? Slitherpaw’s social skills where sorely lacking, which she reflected upon as a rabbit shot by outside camp, making her jump a tail-length into the air. She flicked her ears and picked up her fish, walking over to Foxtail, trying to look confident. “Hello, Foxtail, would you mind if I ate with you?” she started.

Foxtail's eyes lit up when she saw the cat cat approach her, and even better, ask to eat with her. She nodded and wandered over to a sunny patch of grass and layed down. Finding a comfortable spot was always the biggest challenge for her.
Once comfortable she took a bite from the mouse, it wasn't fresh but it wasn't stale either so it was just right. She took a couple bites liking the company of another cat. Everyone seemed to have something to do right now, and all she wanted to do was train.
"Hello Slitherpaw, we haven't chatted much" she said in a calm voice. She was actually quite happy to have someone to talk to her mate was out, and he didn't actually visit very often. She sighed and finished her mouse then layed her head on her paws.

"No, I don’t suppose we have.” Slitherpaw replied as Foxtail finished her mouse and laid her head on her paws. She seemed a bit glum; but then, Slitherpaw didn’t know her, so she couldn’t be sure. With kits on the way, wouldn’t she be exited? Her thoughts on the kits, she wondered who Foxtails mate was. She had heard rumors around that she was going to name one Squirrelkit, after her sister. Slitherpaw questioned this, as no one seemed to like Squirrelheart all that much. But then, no one liked snakes all that much, and there she was, Slitherpaw. A rabbit (the same rabbit, she assumed) dashed by camp again, startling the distracted apprentice out of her fur. She flicked her ear and flattened her fur, embarrassed once more by her jumpy personality. Where does that even COME from? She wondered. “So, forgive me for asking, but who is the father of your kits? And, where is he?”

she pricked her ears when she heard the rabbit but didn't flinch, she sheathed and unsheathed her claws with the want of chasing the rabbit. She missed the feel of the wind blowing in her hair, the scent of the pine trees, the river, moss on the soggy rocks. She missed the needles laying on the ground and even the thorns on the bushes. Foxtail longed to go for a run, a fight, a hunt, anything. She felt like having kits was a prison.
She looked at Slitherpaw without moving her head and replied "Mudpelt" she said, not in a very impressed tone. "And, I'm not sure where he is, he needs to visit more". She turned to look at the apprentice and saw many questions on his face, he didn't know much about her, or kits, so it was pretty common to see a young cat so full of questions. Foxtail decided not to pry though.

“Mudpelt… I haven’t spoken to him much either.” Slitherpaw said, glad to see that Foxtail didn’t seem to notice her start. Now she was SURE Foxtail was unhappy. She could feel her desire to be moving, and her hunger for company. Slitherpaw never understood cats who liked being around others all the time. She wondered if Foxtail had always been a clan cat. She didn’t really want to pry, but suddenly she found herself bursting with questions, feeling like a kit. Although feeling she wasn’t making a good first impression, she tried to keep the conversation going, even if Foxtail did mistake her for younger than she was. “So, have you always been in a clan?” She asked. “And, have you had other kits? You have any good stories?” The question was out before she could think about it, and she shuffled her paws uncomfortably as she waited on Foxtails answers.

Mudpelt hated the marsh. He absolutely hated it. It dirtied his paws, and worse, it made running harder. The lean brown tom flicked his paws in irritation. 'Stupid marsh. Stupid mud.' He was in an overall grumpy mood today. He was returning to camp from an unsuccessful hunt, and it hurt his pride to return empty-pawed.
As he got closer to the camp, he noticed something dash through the long grass. He dropped into a crouch and inched closer. When the creature moved again, Mudpelt, noticing it was a rabbit, dashed forward in pursuit. His long legs quickly closed the distance between himself and the rabbit, and soon he had the rabbit trapped between his paws. He killed it with a swift bite to the neck. He rose, the limp rabbit dangling from his jaws. Proud, the arrogant tom padded back to the camp.
As he entered the camp, he held his head up proudly. He looked around and noticed his mate, Foxtail, lying next to an apprentice, Slitherpaw, maybe? He hadn't spoken to the apprentice much. Mudpelt walked over to them, his long tail nearly brushing the ground. He dropped the rabbit in front of Foxtail before bending down and touching his nose to her ear.
"Hello there. How are you feeling today? Are you hungry?" The mud-brown cat was unused to showing affection, but he was trying. He was trying really hard to show Foxtail he cared, though it had always been hard for him to do so.
His green eyes flicked to Slitherpaw. He nodded hello and laid down next to Foxtail, folding his long legs beneath him. His large ears flicked uncomfortably in the silence as he waited for one of the other cats to speak.

“Hello Mudpelt.” Slitherpaw said nervously. She found herself hardly able to handle a conversation with Foxtail ALONE, and now here she was with Mudpelt added to the mix. She tried to relax her suddenly tense muscles, to no avail. Didn’t Foxtail, only a few moments ago, say how she wished Mudpelt was around more? He had a very arrogant air about him, and Slitherpaw gathered he was a very proud cat. Proud cats tended to annoy Slitherpaw; they were usually the ones who thought the least of her. Always the ones who thought she was as useless as she felt. But then, proud cats thought little of everyone. She waited patiently to see where the conversation went; she wanted to see Foxtail and Mudpelt have a conversation, because of the un-impressed way Foxtail spoke of him.

Foxtail couldn't help herself, she curled her bushy tail around her making herself comfortable and purred as she said "No, I haven't been a queen before, yes I'm clan born, and stories? hmm" she tapped the ground with a claw and scrunched up her nose thinking. The her tail shot straight up and she said excitedly "Yes! i know! Once, when Squirrelheart and I were only kits we wanted to explore, so we snuck out of camp and looked for prey. Squirrelheart actually caught a mouse! I was so surprised" Foxtail's whiskers twitched with pride, she was so excited someone wanted to hear her talk. "So, I knew right then and there that she would be a great hunter!" she nodded her head for emphasize. "But on our way home we almost got eaten by a fox! its teeth snarled and it took squirrelheart's mouse and no one believed me when we-" she cut off as Mudpelt approached.
"Hello Mudpelt" she said all the excitement out of her voice. She sighed "hunting was good I see" she said not knowing what to say. After a bit she said "I think I'll be kitting soon, I can always feel them wriggling around, they're getting big" she said a little happier hoping Mudpelt would seem happy.

Most of you by now are aware that thaz is currently working on Dragonadopters 2.0. If you’re not, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I thought it would be nice to give an update on what has been happening so far.
Thaz made his announcement back in March and has been working on 2.0, adding new features, upgrading current features and image updates ever since.
Draconis posted a new topic on the Dragonadopters chat board asking members to give their opinions on certain aspects of the game. Thus giving the members a chance to have a say in the development of the game by voicing their opinions from their experience gained playing the game.
July 5th, Draconis gave the members an important spoiler. Releasing your dragons will be possible in 2.0! Members are now faced with new possibilities ^^
So now we come to the most recent news.
Possible New forum!
As you already know, Thaz has already mentioned that Dragonadopters 2.0 will be on multi servers. This means that the forum will be on a separate server from the game. We will also hopefully be getting a new improved forum. The mods of this forum will be testing a new forum software that we might be getting should it prove to be up to our mods high standards. We'll be moving the whole of our current forums over to this new improved forum if all goes well. Everything from the current forum will be transferred over, so no worries about losing any of your current threads you’ve worked so hard establishing. Thaz is predicting the new forum will be operational, if we go ahead with it, around the same time 2.0 is released.
Game development news
Thaz has got most of the hard work done and only a few things are left to finish off ready for the testing stage. Once testing has successfully been done, and any issues during this stage solved it’ll be ready for release. A definite release date is still uncertain.
