Shadowblaze Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price Shadowblaze padded along, his long black tail flicking back and forth as he moved though the shadows of the reed marsh. The tom glanced at the sky, and blinked. Then he shook, his sleek black fur rippling over his tight, lanky muscles. The tom twitched an ear and turned to look for a scampering mouse or a hopping frog. Maybe even something bigger for the clan cats to eat. The land was coming back to life after being in the deathly grip of leaf bare. Shadowblaze grinned, bearing his long white fangs. No matter how terrible Leafbare seemed or how timid Newleaf was, Greenleaf always came again. It always fought back those icy jaws of Leafbare. The tom's ears flicked back and he turned to look at a frog that had just climbed out of the marsh. The small green and brown creature let out a load croak. Shadowblaze grinned and dropped into a hunting crouch. Then he slunk forward, and sprang. The frog struggled in his grip for a few moments before he delivered the death bite. He grinned a little and padded over to hide the prey. He'd pick it up later, once he'd finished his walk. With a slight grunt he leapt up and scrambled onto a stump. Then the tom curled his tail around his feet and closed his eyes, letting the warm young sun touch his dark fur. Sitting in the warmth of the sun felt so woderful after the snow. Even if the mornings were still cooler than the short haired tom would care for, around sunhigh was quite pleasent.

The blazing rays of the morning sun licked across the sky, painting it wonderful colors as it rose high into the sky. A warm breeze floated across the lands, wrapping around those that resided in the lands like a lover's caress. The brightening sky of the day allowed one to see the lushness of the bright green grass that sprouted in the meadow. Tall trees reached for the sky with their branches, always ending up so close, but so far away. It was an absolutely beautiful day and all the animals that resided in the land needed to enjoy it. One animal in particular, a honey colored she-cat, was taking advantage of the perfect morning and had ventured out of the camp -without telling anyone, might I add- and had found her way into the meadow.
Of course, this wasn't her final destination, and she just passed through the green grass of the field and kept going. She wanted to be in Reed Marsh. Quite a scary place for an apprentice because it was, in fact, a marsh, and many predators resided in marshes, but it was fun for the she-cat none-the-less. The fear that she could be attacked at any second thrilled her and she often found herself spending more and more time in the marsh to ease her growing needs for entertainment. One of her main ways of entertainment, though, was being a little, irritating brat. It was what she was good at, and she enjoyed it probably for too much. She didn't care, though. In her eyes, if she was happy, the world was happy, and that was exactly how it should have been.
Sighing, Honeypaw made her way into the territory of the Reed Marsh. The marsh took up a large part of the territory, and it served as the border for MarshClan and the rest of the world. The thought of that intreged the young apprentice, and she thought about venturing out into the open world. As soon as she decided that it'd be a fun adventure, she spotted a black form sitting atop the stump of a tree. A grimace fell upon the young she-cat's face before she sighed, replacing it with a smirk. Trotting over to the tom she knew as Shadowblaze, she sat down on the ground before him. "Hey there, Shadowblaze. Fancy seeing you here." She said with a smile as she looked up at the handsome warrior.

Shadowblaze Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price "Mmmm?" Shadowblaze's head whipped around and he flicked his ears back for a second. His blood red eyes narrowed and he looked about to attack. Then he stopped, it was just Honeypaw. "What are you doing out here?" He mewed, his voice steady. "You know you're not supposed to be wandering out here without a mentor." He told her, his voice sharp. "What if something happened to you? There are lots of bad things that can happen to a pretty little she-cat like you. Why I might have been some rogue tom who's just eager to have his way with a fresh little apprentice like you." He grinned, bearing his claws. "And that would be terrible wouldn't it?" he smiled at her. "of course, now that you've got a powerful warrior like me by your side. You'll be safe. I can take down any threat to you, don't you worry at all." he told her, leering a little. "No rogues will be taking advantage of you at all." He looked at her. "Well, since you're out here Honeypaw. We might as well go hunting together. Bring back more than one silly little frog for the clan." He smiled at her, showing far too many teeth off.

The few trees around the cats allowed little sunlight to get through, but the sunlight that did get through managed to shine right on them, casting them in a lone spotlight to stand out among others. The sun felt good on the honey-colored she-cat's back, and she thought of lying down, but thought better of it and just sat there, looking up at Shadowblaze. After she spoke to him, he had whipped his head around and pinned his ears. Honeypaw knew that he had been looking for danger, and so she just sat there, waiting for him to realize that it was just her. At last, he did, and as his blood red gaze focused on her, she couldn't help but be amazed. Such a wonderful color for eyes. She briefly wondered how he had managed to get such a color, but her thoughts were interupted by the warrior's words. What are you doing out here? You know you're not supposed to be wandering out here without a mentor. What if something happened to you? Honeypaw rolled her eyes at that before looking up to his eyes, connecting hers with his. There are lots of bad things that can happen to a pretty little she-cat like you. Why I might have been some rogue tom who's just eager to have his way with a fresh little apprentice like you. And that would be terrible wouldn't it?
He took a moment to smile, and Honeypaw took her chance to reply. "But you're not a rogue tom. You're Shadowblaze. Plus, I'm pretty sure I can take care of myself." She stated, winking and turning her back onto him. Sitting down and wrapping her tail over her paws, she looked out into the marsh. Her ears flicked back to catch his neck words, but other than that, she didn't move. Of course, now that you've got a powerful warrior like me by your side. You'll be safe. I can take down any threat to you, don't you worry at all. No rogues will be taking advantage of you at all. Honeypaw smiled and rolled her eyes at that, knowing that he couldn't see her face. "I wasn't worrying in the first place." She replied, flicking her tail slightly.
Well, since you're out here Honeypaw. We might as well go hunting together. Bring back more than one silly little frog for the clan. Honeypaw sighed and looked back at him, seeing his smile that showed far too many teeth. Though she didn't know Shadowblaze's full past, she did know his personality and the fact that he lived for battle. The thought gave the small she-cat a shudder and she sighed again. "Yeah I guess..." She responded, standing and facing him. Hunting annoyed her slightly, but at least it would be something to show off to him, right? And then he could go back to the camp and tell Mudpelt, her mentor how good she'd done. That'd probably get her out of trouble... Well not really. She'd still be punished, but with her being punished every day, it had seased to bother her anymore, and she actually found her daily amusement out of it. The young apprentice stretched her back before shaking out her pelt and looking at Shadowblaze for directions of some sort, for she relied on the warriors for almost everything.

Shadowblaze Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price Shadowblaze stood up and shook himself. "You're right." The black tom said. "I'm not a rogue, I'm a clan cat. But that wasn't always the case. But don't fret. I wouldn't lay a paw on a single hair on your body. And I wouldn't let any other cat do anything like that either." He added, smiling at her. He hopped down next to her. "Honeypaw, there are rules for a reason. There are predators in the marsh. And of course the threat of other clans being jealous of our hunting territories and trying to invade." He grinned wolfishily. "If they tried I'd bring them all down, the cowards would run yelping back to their dens with their tails between their legs." He laughed and puffed out his chest. The tall, lanky tom walked beside her and purred a little. "I think I scented a family of water voles over that way. Oh, and look! Goose tracks. Now that's a plump bird. Good eating for the whole clan." He turned and began following the duck tracks silently. His dark body seemed to blend in quite well with the tall reeds. "Now Honeypaw, when hunting a goose you sometimes need two cats to do it." He explained. "You see, they are such big birds that most cats couldn't manage one on their own. Of course I could. But since you're still learning, well it's best that we do this together." He dropped low. "Once I pin the thing, you rush forward and bite through its neck." He explained. "And watch out for that beak, it can land quite the blow." He slunk forward again. "On my mark Honeypaw. Ready?"

You're only as tall as your heart will let you be, The honey colored she-cat looked around with her copper eyes. Her ears perked as she tried to find any misplaced animals within the forest. The forest seemed oddly... peaceful, and it disturbed the young apprentice. Of course, why should she feel this way? She was with Shadowblaze, and he practically lived and breathed fighting. She should probably have been more worried about him attacking her rather than the silence of the forest around them. In fact, wasn't silence in the forest good? It meant that nothing was around to bother them. Then again, it also could have meant that a predator was nearby and all the prey had gone into hiding to escape it. The thought made a shiver rack her body before she caught the words of the black warrior. You're right. I'm not a rogue, I'm a clan cat. But that wasn't always the case. But don't fret. I wouldn't lay a paw on a single hair on your body. And I wouldn't let any other cat do anything like that either. Honeypaw, there are rules for a reason. There are predators in the marsh. And of course the threat of other clans being jealous of our hunting territories and trying to invade. If they tried I'd bring them all down, the cowards would run yelping back to their dens with their tails between their legs.
Honeypaw smiled sadly at his words. Sure, there were rules, but she didn't want to follow them because they weren't fun. Sighing, she looked over at him and paused a minute before she replied. "I know, but following rules just isn't the way I rule. Besides, it's not like anyone would miss me if I was gone. My mother and father are dead, and the rest of the clan practically hates me. They'd be happy to have me gone." She looked longingly to where the border of MarshClan territory and the open world was before getting up and following slowly after Shadowblaze. After a moment, she shook out her pelt, shaking off all the sadness that had been held down on her, and she changed her step so that she was jumping excitedly as they walked along. She was probably one of the worst hunters in the clan because she got too excited and never really tried, but she wanted to please Shadowblaze. I think I scented a family of water voles over that way. Oh, and look! Goose tracks. Now that's a plump bird. Good eating for the whole clan.
Honeypaw shook with excitement as she stopped her jumping and tried to contain her energy for the actual hunt. Of course, that was easier said than done for her, but she still managed and stayed close to the ground, her small form making it seem like nothing was there. The tall reeds wiggled only slightly as her tiny body moved past, and even then, it looked as if they were moving with the breeze. Now Honeypaw, when hunting a goose you sometimes need two cats to do it. You see, they are such big birds that most cats couldn't manage one on their own. Of course I could. But since you're still learning, well it's best that we do this together. Once I pin the thing, you rush forward and bite through its neck. And watch out for that beak, it can land quite the blow. Shadowblaze's words rang in her head, and she pushed her body low to the ground, creeping forward and eyeing the large bird up before turning back to look at the warrior beside her. This was the biggest thing that she had ever tried to hunt, and she was nervous. She didn't know how she would do, but when he spoke again, her body tensed, and she nodded, her eyes drifting back to her prey.

Shadowblaze Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price The tom pressed his body against the ground. Then in a blur of black he short forward. As he ran it seemed his paws barely touched the ground. It only took him moments before he was in the air and landing on the back of the black and white bird. With all his strength he pushed the creature's wings down. It honked and turned its head around to peck him on the head, several times and quite hard too. "Honeypaw, NOW!" he yowled. "Hurry up!" he added, biting into the birds wing. That only seemed to infuriate it more. Tom yanked back, causing major damage to the wing muscles. He quickly did the same to the other side. "Honeypaw... I'm counting on you, any time now!" (bleh, dead muse)

Silence settled around the apprentice as she focused her mind on the hunt. Her ears let no sound in except for a low ringing sound that meant that she was completely focused on something. Her eyes blurred around the edges, zoning in on the large bird that would be her target. Her claws extended, digging into the soft earth with ease. Her breathing grew slow and quiet as she tensed so that she was ready. She barely saw the flash of black as Shadowblaze dashed forward to be the first attack on the large creature. That's when Honeypaw froze with panic. Watching him struggle with the bird made her realize how large and powerful the goose really was. Her breath caught in her throat and she let Shadowblaze's words ring out in her ears. Honeypaw, NOW! Hurry up! Honeypaw... I'm counting on you, any time now!
The young apprentice's heart pounded within her tiny chest as she watched the warrior make the beast lame. He had destroyed the goose's one wing and was working on the other. He was counting on her to bring the bird down, and yet she was frozen in place. You can do this Honeypaw. Make him proud. She told herself inside her head. She finally unfroze enough to get her legs to work, and she darted forward, leaping at the large bird. She landed on it, her claws digging into the place where the neck met body. She clawed her way up to his neck, slicing at it before biting down hard. Just before she felt the sickening crack of the bird's neck, something hard landed a powerful blow on her head. She bit down hard, hearing the crack before she fell to the ground, her head pounding.

Shadowblaze Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price The Bird struggled for a few more seconds, bleeding from its neck. Then it lay still, convulsing a bit. However it didn't struggle. Shadowblaze climbed off of it and eyed it carefully, then darted forward and bit low, ripping the neck off. "It was suffering." he explained, his voice low. "A kill, weather in hunting or battle, should be quick and clean. That is something to work on and pride yourself in Honeypaw." He mewed to her. "Now to drag this monster bird back to camp. Leaving fresh-kill out that's this large will attract foxes or badgers." He said. "Or even dogs." He paused. "Though dogs are stupid animals. They roll in crow-food. From what I understand they like how it smells." He giggled a bit. He paused. "What, I've got friends outside the clans. There is no reason for a kittypet who stays in her own territory to be my foe. She grew up with a dog and speaks the language. Or does the dog speak cat. I think it may be a mixture of both. Anyway, she told me that the dog in her nest rolls in long dead things. Or anything that's decomposing in face, because he likes the smell." He gave his head a little shake and grinned at her. "Coming Honeypaw?"

Most of you by now are aware that thaz is currently working on Dragonadopters 2.0. If you’re not, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I thought it would be nice to give an update on what has been happening so far.
Thaz made his announcement back in March and has been working on 2.0, adding new features, upgrading current features and image updates ever since.
Draconis posted a new topic on the Dragonadopters chat board asking members to give their opinions on certain aspects of the game. Thus giving the members a chance to have a say in the development of the game by voicing their opinions from their experience gained playing the game.
July 5th, Draconis gave the members an important spoiler. Releasing your dragons will be possible in 2.0! Members are now faced with new possibilities ^^
So now we come to the most recent news.
Possible New forum!
As you already know, Thaz has already mentioned that Dragonadopters 2.0 will be on multi servers. This means that the forum will be on a separate server from the game. We will also hopefully be getting a new improved forum. The mods of this forum will be testing a new forum software that we might be getting should it prove to be up to our mods high standards. We'll be moving the whole of our current forums over to this new improved forum if all goes well. Everything from the current forum will be transferred over, so no worries about losing any of your current threads you’ve worked so hard establishing. Thaz is predicting the new forum will be operational, if we go ahead with it, around the same time 2.0 is released.
Game development news
Thaz has got most of the hard work done and only a few things are left to finish off ready for the testing stage. Once testing has successfully been done, and any issues during this stage solved it’ll be ready for release. A definite release date is still uncertain.
