Slitherpaw had been curled up in her nest for what felt like forever. Once she had almost fallen asleep, but her excitement had woken her up once again. She couldn’t have slept, even if she wanted to. She was watching the moonlight through the holes of the apprentice den. It was almost moonhigh, time to go. Tonight, she was going to see Leopardpaw. It was against the rules, of course, which is why she was being sneaky. She sat up and crept slowly from her den, relieved that she didn’t wake anyone up. She sat outside the entrance to the den a few moments, licking her fur flat. She flicked ear, stood up, and began to walk slowly toward the camp entrance. She wasn’t sure who was on guard, but he or she was half asleep. She slipped out of camp pretty easily. She walked confidently through the forest, for once not letting anything get to her. She wasn’t going to let herself ruin this. She walked for a while, and it was sure she was going to be late. When she got to the hill Leopardpaw had told her about, however, he wasn’t there yet. She sat down to wait, feeling excitement buzzing through her fur. She decided to hunt a little while she waited for him, so she began scenting the air. She was, of course, not only sniffing for prey.

Leopardpaw I can resist anything but temptation Leopardpaw had been held up. One of his denmates, in fact Luckypaw, hadn't been able to sleep. He had to listen to the younger she-cat's grumping and lecturing until she had finally dozed off. Stars that cat was irritating. Who did she think she was anyway. And what a stupid name, Luckypaw. Obviously that little twit's mother was a few mice short of a fresh kill pile. He flicked his ears back in annoyance. Once Luckypaw's twitching was done, and she had lain still, Leopardpaw had slunk out of camp. It hadn't been easy. However it was done. Then he ran, with as much speed as he could muster, to the old two-leg nest. A quick twitch of his nose told him that Slitherpaw was already there. He bounded up to her. "Hey there." he mewed, his voice seductive. "What's a pretty little thing like you doing out so late?" he flirted.

Slitherpaw purred at the sight of Leopardpaw bounding up to her. “Hey there, what’s a pretty little thing like you doing out so late?” He meowed flirtatiously. “Well, I think I’m meeting someone here.” She mewed, matching his tone. Wait, weren’t they here to train? Well, Slitherpaw was sure they BOTH knew that wasn’t true. They had snuck out to see each other, to talk. Training was far from her mind. Her mind was, at the moment, reaching for things to talk about. “So, was it hard for you to get away?” She asked, “My den mates sleep like rocks. I bet they wouldn’t wake up if two-legs invaded our camp and took them all away!” She looked up at the moon, wishing it could just stay still for awhile.

Leopardpaw I can resist anything but temptation The tom laughed gently at her. "Of course." he purred, laying down next to her. "So, I take it you had little to no trouble getting here." he chuckled a bit. Then she asked why he was late. Leopardpaw gave a irritated sigh and curled his lip. He narrowed his eyes a bit and looked at her. "One of my denmates was being a damming busybody." he meowed. "Stupid Luckypaw, had to lecture me about doing the right thing. Well, she can take her code and shove it." He snapped. "I don't care, she's younger than me and has not right to lecture me. Stupid vixen." he spat. "A busybody and a vixen. I'm just fortunet that that grumpy cat finally fell asleep." He laughed a bit. "Oh right, we met to train." he said, teasing a bit. With a slight laugh he jumped at her, in a mock pounce. However he was using training as an excuse to be close to her. To feel her body next to his.

Slitherpaw laughed with him at his complaints of Luckypaw. She knew how he felt, being lectured got old very quickly. Especially if it was someone younger! “I know how you feel there.” She said, purring a bit. She meowed in surprise as he pounced on her. Not really pounced, of course. She played along, using this mock-fight for the same reason she suspected him of; just to be close. She knew in a real fight she was in way over her head, but this was just a play fight, and she knew he wouldn’t hurt her. She batted playfully at his underbelly as he pinned her to the ground, purring with laughter. Real, genuine, laughter. It had been a long time since she had felt this happy, this at home. Being with Leopardpaw just felt so natural.

Leopardpaw I can resist anything but temptation Leopardpaw smiled at her, his eyes bright in the moonlight. "So." he purred, lay atop her. "Do you think this is enough fight practice." He asked her, leaning in his voice breathing against her ear. Oh stars she was so lovely. So perfect, who cared if she was in a different clan. Who was SkyClan come in and tell them that they had to follow a certain code from an old forest that Leopardpaw would never see. As far as he cared they should create their own code. He smiled at her. "There are much more fun things to do than playfight." he purred lustily. "If you know what I mean." he added, murring to her. "Come on, we can make a nest if you want." He chuckled at her. His yellow eyes locked with hers as he purred happily. Her body was so warm, her fur soft against his belly. "Mmm... you're so pretty. And we're both old enough to make up our own minds." he said. "Who cares if our mentors are holding us back?" He asked. "I know for sure I don't care."

Slitherpaw relished his light breath on her ear as he whispered to her. He was more than right about the code. He was also right about them. ‘We can make our own choices. We don’t need mentors that just hold us back. ‘She thought. “Yes, I do.” She answered, whispering. He was so perfect. His sleek fur and lean muscles, even his voice was enticing. She wanted only to be closer to him, to not go back to camp and be lectured over a million year old code. But, she didn’t want to leave the clan, did she? No, she would miss the company of her clan-mates. But, why did having a mate in another clan have to mean leaving hers? It didn’t. Besides, no one would even find out about this. Her clan would be none-the-wiser.

Adoptables Lair re-opening
The Adoptables Lair has now been reopened with a few alterations in place
First off all you will notice that the reply button in there has been removed, this will stop all the reply level spam we had on the previous occasion.
While the Lair was closed I have also removed all the replies, some people may find their post header has been altered as well as I’ve change any headers begging for levels. It has taken some time to tidy up in there so please keep it this way and name your Lairs appropriately and don’t just put something asking for levels. I have also removed any Lairs that don’t display at least one adoptable, leaving just a link or asking people to look in your signature for the adoptable is not what the Lair is for, it is a place to put your adoptables for others to visit and enjoy.
I hope we have a successful re-opening and we get to see some awesome Lair designs
Thanks for your patience while we got this sorted
