Tiberius padded out of his house and into the yard. The tom surveyed his domain with a smug smile on his face. This was all his. Every quivering housecat in the whole surrounding area knew it. So did most of the ferals. Stupid scrawny beasts. The tom wrinkled his nose a bit in disgust at the creatures of the woods. His mate was asleep. It was a pity, Nera would have liked this. She always did. In the world, she was the only thing he truly cared for.

He crossed his yard, marking his territory as he made the rounds. Then leapt up onto the fence. There was the wilds beyond here. The so called "clans" lived there. Today he was going to send a message to the clans. That he could take what he wanted. They would learn to bow to him. He would be kind enough to them, so long as they provided him and his followers with tribute in the form of prey, kits for training and females to do with as he pleased. He knew that these inferior cats would bow to him in time. They all did.

Hawkheart padded along, in a good mood. She usually was, but she was now a soon-to-be mentor. She was so exited she could burst! So, she had decided to take a walk. And here she was, nearing two-leg place.
Well, she hadn’t meant to come that far. She was about to turn around and head back, however, when a scent caught her attention. It was one she didn’t recognize. Kitty-pet? No, this was different. It wasn’t a clan cat either though. Maybe a rogue? Well, she decided to check it out.
She approached carefully and quietly, feeling nervous. It was a rather large cat, and she knew she wouldn’t be a match for him in a fight. Nonetheless, she didn’t want to just turn and go back to camp. Besides, since when did rogues wander around two-leg place? This was all very odd.
She froze as the huge cat spotted her, wondering what could happen next.

Tiberius chuckled and licked his lips when he saw the clan cat. Oh she was a pretty one. It was quite the pity that Nera wasn't here. Slowly he approached her, then jumped down infront of her. "You're on my territory." He said, his voice grave. "Do you have the right tribute for passing across my lands?" He asked her, slowly circling her. "A gift of prey prehaps?" He smirked. He knew she was one of these clan cats. He also knew that a clan cat wouldn't know of his tribute. Of course, that wouldn't stop him from enforcing his law. One couldn't get lax after all. "Or did you think you could sneak onto my territory without any form of payment?" he asked her, glaring. "You know that's a very bad thing to do. I'll have to make an example of you if you have." There was a sick and twisted amusement in his voice and he continued to circle her, his eyes hungry.

Hawkheart felt her fur bristle as the tom started to circle her. Something was NOT right here. What was he meowing on about? She was still wondering who this cat was, and what he was talking about, and was starting to plan an escape rout in her head. Not to say she was a coward, but she had good sense.
So, she had to think. She could just run, but he would probably be faster. She could try to climb a tree, but she could see he had long claws. He would be a good climber as well. She could try to talk herself out of the situation, but she wasn’t so sure about that either. He had the confident stride of a cat who was used to getting away with things.
She ran over her options once more. She could just stall until she had a window to run… but she had a feeling it wouldn’t be that easy. Surely there should be more cats around? There had to be a lot of kitty-pets… he must be a dangerous cat.
But she was quickly running out of time to decide, before he would decide for her. Wonderful.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Was the best she could come up with under so much pressure.

The large tom's eyes narrowed and his ears flicked back as this stupid creature stood there like a lump of wood. Only so much more idiotic looking. A sneer of pure distain played on his muzzle as his eyes drifted over her body. As foolish as this she-cat was, she was still pretty.

"You seem slow, so I'll say it again. In terms an idiot creature like yourself will understand." he said, his voice having a sickeningly friendly tone to it. It was so wrong when mixed with the hungry look in his eyes and his cocky grin. He lashed his tail and repeated himself. "Why are you on my lands without a tribute." He paused and watched her as she opened and closed her mouth like a dying fish. Then she said something, something so small. It was things that any cat would just brush aside. Any normal cat. However Tiberius was not normal, he was a king and master of all he surveyed.

"No idea what I'm talking about?" he asked, his voice cruel and mocking. "Then I'll just have to show you, you worthless little fool." he snarled and swatted her across the face, claws out. Then, taking advantage of her confusion he leapt on her.

After he had finished with her he stood and smirked. "That will teach you, fool. Do not come onto my lands without the proper tribute. Of course, me having you again is good enough tribute. If you do that, I'll let you hunt here anytime you want. There are mice in the garden."

I'm really glad to tell you that I finished the whole dragon artwork for the game today! I've worked about one month on them.
Every stage, (Hatchling, Child, ...), and element of every species is illustrated in 4 different ways:

- Pixel Preview (gif[image type], 19x19 pixels) Its basicly a lil preview for your dragon =>
- Non Animated 100x100 gif
- Animated 100x100 gif
- PNG Illustration (about 350x350px)

Why all those versions?
Well basicly I didnt want to make only one pixel thing. Its more work, but its also more fun to create different versions and I did the bigger illustrations that you can see more details.
Non animated images and the big illustrations can be linked to other pages and forums when the game is open and you can adopt your dragons.
The script will automatically write the name and current level under the dragon image; example:

Of course you'll be able to choose more creative names than me.

How did I do the artwork?
This might be interesting for some of you.
I've sketched every single dragon first more or less detailed, afterwards I did the different version from it.
I had to set every single pixel for the pixel version btw. Everything, also the animation is done in Photoshop.
