A dark shape slinked through the camp of MarshClan, eyeing the entrances of all dens and watching the activity of cats all around the clearing. A faint smile came to his muzzle when he realized how proud, and sad, the day was. Nearby lay the body of the slain deputy, Wolfclaw, who died protecting his clanmates, just like he had promised those few moons again when he became deputy. It was the Clans first real loss, and certainly the first lost deputy.
Crowstar had been instructed by Cloudstar four moons ago about the ceremonies of the Clans. It was a bad omen for the deputy to be picked anytime after sundown on the day of the past deputy's death. It was nearing the end of the day and Crowstar had thought of his deputy and done nothing else since knews of Wolfclaw's death.
He approached his terf, which was the low-lying branch of the large tree that stood near the entrance of camp. This is where he liked to give all Clan meetings and ceremonies. And now was the time to give another.
Another stone of dread was weighing on his stomach as well. He had not seen one whisker of Slitherpaw all day. Where had she run off too? Something had clearly happened to his apprentice, and he needed to let the Clan know of that as well.
"Cats of MarshClan!!" he booming masculine voice rang loudly across the camp. He waited a few moments with hard eyes, hoping to see curious heads pop up to give him his undivided attention.
"There is much we must discuss! I summon all cats old enough to catch their own prey to assemble beneath the branch for a Clan meeting!" he echoed the almost-same words he once heard Cloudstar speak. With impatience he waited for enough warriors and apprentices to gather, meanwhile beginning to plan out all of his words very carefully.

Whisperstrike Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Whisperstrike eyed the dead deputy. He was dead, therefore he had not been skilled enough to be leader one day. This was something that the she-cat was sure the postition of deputy was for. It was nearly as deadly as being a leader. To survive to become leader simply meant you were the best of the best. There were other ways, but surviving to the death of the leader seemed like a good one. It meant more peace in the clan than the cats fighting out who would lead. The she-cat padded into the center of the camp and sat down, tail around her legs. Shadowblaze Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price Shadowblaze had been but Shadowpaw when Wolfclaw had become deputy. And now he was dead. The tom was rather upset at the great warrior's death. He cast a red glance to the skies and took a deep breath. He knew that a true warrior joined the dead today. He only prayed that a true warrior would take the tom's place among the living. They needed a strong cat so their clan would remain strong. He joined the other cats, his head bowed. Freezepaw Starclan loves you. It's everybody else that thinks you're a mousebrain. Freezepaw had been sitting with a few of the other apprentices, talking. Mainly about some sort of silly story involving a mouse. However the yowl of the leader caught his attention. The tom stopped and gasped. Wolfclaw was dead. The silver cat shook his head a little. It couldn't be. What had happened. The tom quietly joined the rest of the clan.

Snakepaw stopped sorting through his herbs. The clan leader's voice echoed throughout the camp, summoning the clan. He padded out of the Medicine Den, and suddenly sat down. The deputy had been slain during battle, trying to protect his clan. Horrified, the Medicine Cat Apprentice made his way back to the Den.
Oh StarClan, why does his life end so soon? Snakepaw thought, grabbing some Rosemary with his teeth. He peeked out of the Medicine Den. The Elders made it look as if the dead warrior was sleeping, which just gave a sick feeling to Snakepaw. Nautious, he walked over and rubbed the sweet herb all over Wolfclaw's fur. His fur was nicely groomed, and soon he would be buried. Snakepaw couldn't take it anymore. He dropped the herb and ran to the river, wet streams running down his face.
"Why Wolfclaw? Why did you have to leave us? We needed you so much," he sobbed, the river churning. A presence made Snakepaw shiver. I will always be here to guide you... it whispered, sounding strangely like Wolfclaw. Snakepaw opened his mouth to speak, but the spirit had gone, leaving him to trudge back to camp.

Mudpelt Perfection is difficult, but you make it look easy. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The yowl of the Clan leader stirred the brown warrior from his slumber. Silently he rose to his paws, stretching out his long legs. As he padded closer to the center of the camp, he kept his tail lifted slightly so it would not drag along the dusty ground. As he came upon the body of the former deputy lying upon the ground, he knew instantly what this meeting was about. Sitting on the edge of the crowd, Mudpelt curled his long tail delicately over his paws. He hoped this would not take long.

Hello dear players. I bet you're all wondering how Dragonadopters 2.0 is doing. Well, it's almost done, still some polishing and bug fixing to do. I can't say the exact release date of 2.0, but I can surely say it will be in October. Don't worry, we'll notify you of a release date later. I should point out that the FORUM will also change. We will be upgrading to a new version SMF 2 and the forum will be SEPERATED from the game. This means new registrations will go through the game registration form, not the forum. ALL your game accounts will be transfered to the new version, so don't worry you will not loose your dragons. All your forum data and game data is safe. The forum will go onto my hoster and the game on Thaz's hoster. We decided it's best they're seperated because it will relieve some of the bandwith and everything slowing down. The forum is shutting down on 5th October, Monday around noon GMT. The new game 2.0 is NOT opening on Monday! So finish up your RPs you had planned or competitions, because it may be some time till the forum is back. Also the Dragonadopters Official Contest will be closing by the end of Sunday and the winners will be announced once the forum is back up with new Dragonadopters v2. While the forum is down, you'll still be able to log into the game with any dragonpage, for example www.yourusername.dragonadopters.com/Instead of 'yourusername' write your actual username. Or you can simply use that link which will get you to a blank userpage, but you'll still see the login boxes. A few days after the forum is shut down, the game will shut down too for transfers. You'll have to be patient then till we get everything operational and once it's open you'll see a new version forum and brand new Dragonadopters. Look forward to it! ~Draconis & Thaz
