Betrayal is an intermediate medieval fantasy rpg that focuses more on using your wits and brawn over magic and sorcery. Chapter 2

Spottail sighed as she saw the kits dash away. Good, now just keep running. She was so busy watching the kits that she forgot what she was doing, and the wolf bucked off her and sent her flying.

"Spottail!" Hopeshade yowled, and ran toward her, her eyes wide.

Rainbowspots gasped when she heard the thud and ran toward the noise. Fidgetshadow, Lionblaze, Peanutdazzle, Pennyblaze, Amberpelt, Squrirrelfire, Spottedpool, Sootpath, Rainsplash, Moonsign, Forgottenshadow, Nightwhispers, Storyflight, Pinecone, Tobybranch, Seedwish, Angelflight and Reignshine were right behind her.

Hopeshade saw them and waved her tail. Rainbowspots saw it and ran toward her. "What is it?" Rainbowspots asked with a pant.

"Look." Hopeshade pointed her tail to place where Spottail fell and was not moving.

"Oh, great StarClan, no!"

"Rainbowspots, what's goin-" Angelflight's eyes went wide when she saw what happened. "Mom, no!"

Pinecone heard his kit crying and ran over to her. "It's okay, Angelflight, sh-"

He stopped when heard Amberpath meow, "Look!" Pennyblaze gasped when she saw the wolves coming at them.

We need a d- Fantastream was broken from her thoughts when Hopeshade gasped. "Spottail? Spottail, she's alive! Spottail's alive!”

Angelflight wiped away her tears and asked, "How do you know?"

"The tip of her tail is moving, look." Angelflight waved her tail, telling Pinecone to follow her. Pinecone nodded and followed behind his kit. When they reached Spottail, Pinecone gasped.

"She's right, Hopeshade is right! Spottail's tail is moving!"

"Oh, praise StarClan!" Angelflight mewed with tears of happiness.

"That's wonderful, but we still have to deal with these wolves!" Lionblaze hissed.

"He's right," Seedwish mewed.

"So, what should we do?" Pennyblaze asked.

"I'll fight them while you guys get Spottail to safety," Lionblaze mewed.

"Okay, but you’re not fighting them alone. You should at least pick out eight or nine cats to go with you."

"Okay, Pinecone, I'll pick Peanutdazzle, Storyflight, Amberpath, Fantastream, Fidgetshadow, Tulipwhiskers, Fireblaze and Reignshine."

"Okay, the rest of you follow me. I need one cat to carry Spottail."

"I'll do it, Hopeshade."

"Okay, Angelflight; now I need a cat to help Angelflight pick her up."

"I'll help her."

"Ok, Hollylight. Now-"

"I'll help Angelflight carry her."

"Okay, then we’re also set to go Pinecone."

Forgottenshadow purred as she watched the three cats work together. When Spottail was on Angelflight's back the cats walked back to camp. On the way there, Sootpath noticed that Squirrelfire was looking back, sighing. Sootpath walked up to her and asked, "What's wrong?"

"I'm worried about the cats we left behind."

"Well, Lionblaze will be fine. He's one the three."

"I know Lionblaze will be fine, Sootpath, he can't get hurt in battle. But what about the other cats?"

"I don't know, Squirrelfire. All we can do is hope and pray that all the cats come back alive."
Meanwhile, back with the wolves, the apprentices were coming back from training. Storyflight saw them and sighed. "That's the last thing we need."

"What's the last thing we need, Storyflight?" Amberpath asked.

"The apprentices joining the battle, when they have had no wolf battle training."

"You're right, Storyflight, that is the last thing need. I'm hoping not to bring any dead bodies back to camp," Lionblaze said with a hiss.


Echoshimmer gasped when saw the battle going on. "Look over there," she whispered to her sister.

Fetchglow also gasped when she saw the same battle that Echoshimmer saw. "We can't let Tootisepaw and Fluffpaw see this. If they do, they will want to join in, thinking that if they join this battle they will become warriors tonight."

"You’re right, and they will never make it out alive- they haven't been taught this kind of training yet."

Before they know it, Tootisepaw saw it and looked at her sister. "Look, Fluffpaw! That's quite a battle going on."

"You’re right! If we jump in and help them, we will become warriors for sure tonight!”

They were on their way to join in when Echoshimmer blocked their way. "Stop! You will never make out alive! You haven't had this kind of training yet."

"Well, we could just go, learn some of the moves, and come right back."

"Tootisepaw, the moves are really hard to learn- you can't learn them in one day. It took me and my sisters many stars to learn it."

"Fluffpaw and I are fast learners."

"You’re not listening to us! Just watch the other cats and you will see."

"Okay," Tootisepaw mewed. Fluffpaw and Tootisepaw sat down, and watch the cats battle. After a while, the two young cats screamed and ran toward their mentors.

"We can't watch anymore, it's just too scary," Tootisepaw and Fluffpaw mewed.

"That what we thought. Now think about if that was you in battle," Echoshimmer meowed.

"I can't, Echoshimmer."

"I just want to go home, Fetchglow!" Fluffpaw wailed.

"Okay, that sounds good to us."

They were just about to leave when wolf a saw them. Lionblaze jumped onto the back of it and yowled, "Run!"

The four cats dashed off while Lionblaze fought the wolf. The wolf tried to buck him, but Lionblaze didn't let go. The cats watched while Lionblaze slowly and painfully killed the wolf, and then the wolf leader was gone. The other wolves howled then ran far away, never to be seen again.

Lionblaze had ended the battle and none of the cats had been killed. Lionblaze was their hero that day, and on the way home the cats called out his name. "Lionblaze, Lionblaze, Lionblaze!"

"Oh, it was nothing. I was just doing what any warrior would had done, protecting his clanmates."
