The black she-cat struggled, claws lashing out trying to scratch at anything she could so the strong jaws would let her go and she could run away. It was a big dog, no, it was bigger than a big dog, it was some sort of creature that she had never laid her green eyes on. Her claws seemed to slice through it's furry flesh, but the jaws never let go, in fact, her claws then started to burn. She gasped, letting out a strangled mewl, as suddenly everything became so cold, it was burning her, and the monster continued to toy and tear at her body. There was no escape for her now, this was the end of Sorrowsong's whole life, then everything went black. Sorrowsong woke with a start, gasping, her black sides were heaving and her ears were roaring with fear. Then...she relaxed, looking around, she found herself back in camp, safe and sound, she must've been so tired she couldn't even make it to the Warriors den and fell asleep in the middle of the camp. Her green eyes looked up at the rising morning sun, and she relaxed more, all was well, she was in no danger...the clan was in no danger. But she cringed a little, realizing that she might have caused attention, she must have been thrashing in her sleep after all, because she didn't remember falling asleep on her back. The black cat self-consciously rolled back on her paws, and stood up, glancing her green eyes around. Had she made a scene when she was thrashing in her sleep? She wondered, ducking her head down, and her tail down low, she began to retreat from the center of the camp, as fast as she could with out bumping into anybody at all. Her whiskers trembled a little, showing her fear of the others, but she kept on a hard face, trying to make it seem like she wasn't one to be teased or messed with. The black-she cat stopped, her green eyes landing on a group of cats laughing together, but she shook her head, she didn't want to talk to them, she was too shy to do that. Each pawstep she took, she tried to make a little sound as possible, not wanting others to notice her at all, she was invisible and she liked being that way. Sorrowsong looked around the camp once more, and continued on her way, making sure that no one would follow her, she moved towards exiting the camp, maybe she would just hide in the trees or something. Sorrowsong inhaled a breathe of the soft morning air, and slowly let it escape her nostrils in a low sigh.

Dainty paws made soft thumps on the semi-wet soil that consumed the cavern floor. A few clumped particles of dirt stuck to the pads of the MarshClan medicine cat as she trotted from place to place amongst her lonely den, stray pieces of moss from her solitary nest in the corner still clinging to her coat. She hadn't bothered to clean herself up since she awoke a few minutes prior, and had started her day off stretching and immediately checking her stores. What was the need for cleanliness when you lived in a quiet den by yourself? Hazelfur's thoughts bounced from one subject to another absently as she observed her amount of marigold, poppy, catmint. It was new leaf, and the sun shone brightly outside of her log-covered den. Streams of light struck through the branches that were securely weaved overhead, and she could scent the flowers in the air. The winter had taken much of her herbs, and Hazelfur's brow furrowed with worry. She supposed some plants might be out already, seeing as how the day was bright and the snow had been gone for nearly a moon now. The prey was returning - so must be the plants they stole seeds from. Taking a moment to swipe her tongue over her paw, and then her paw over her ear, she stood up and shook the dirt and leaves from her thick fur. Slipping out of her snug home, she winced as the bright light of morning hit her eyes, a big contrast from the dark shelter of her den. As her hues adjusted to the sun, Hazelfur scanned the clearing before her, hoping she could find a partner to help her carry herbs back, if she could find any. "Sorrowsong!" The swirled tabby she-cat called out as she spotted the smaller feline. What's getting her down? Hazelfur asked herself, noting Sorrowsong's lowered head, her tail close to the ground. Her unhappiness was concerning, and quite evident. The medicine cat wondered vaguely why none of the other cats had stopped to speak with her first, there was many gathered in groups, laughing, planning patrols. "Would you like to come help me find herbs for my den?"

She could stay and wait to be acknowledged by some cat, and they would put her in a hunting patrol or a border patrol, but then, she just wanted to be alone right now, her dream, was still rather haunting to her. She wasn't afraid of death, in fact, she wouldn't care so much if she just dropped dead right then. It was the pain, Sorrowsong couldn't handle pain like an average cat could. Sorrowsong was afraid of getting hurt, but none the less, she was a fighter, and could fight for the clan with all heart heart. The black she-cat stopped, hearing her name being called, she was tempted to just keep walking, but instead, Sorrowsong turned her black head around, her green eyes scanning the area to see who had called her. Then, her green eyes landed on a multi-colored tabby, she was no warrior either, she was the medicine cat of the clan. What did she want with Sorrowsong? She waited, eyes narrowing a little, she didn't want to seem too confused that she was called by Hazelfur. Perhaps she did something wrong. That was likely. Well, what ever it was, she would face it professionally, not cowering like some defenseless kit. "Would you like to come help me find herbs for my den?" The black she-cat blinked for a few moments, and turned all the way around, walking gracefully towards the medicine cat, and she stopped, a good distance away from Hazelfur, considering the request. She didn't know how to do any of this medicine thing, Sorrowsong wondered how she would be able to find these. "Well," she replied, carefully, trying not to sound as uncertain as she felt, "I...I don't know if I'd be much...help," replied the black she-cat carefully, her green eyes looked to her paws for a moment, "But..." she looked around a little, "I can try to help..." As best as I can she added in her head a bit bitterly. Sorrowsong wondered how helpful she could really be again, but...it wasn't like she would make a complete fool of herself. She wouldn't be with a group of other warriors, just with the medicine cat. It didn't seem like she'd be the type to gossip, then again, Sorrowsong had never really spent time with this cat before, a small tingle of suspicion snuck up in Sorrowsong's heart.

Hazelfur's sapphire gaze lit up. The sun struck the pretty she-cats pelt, making her tabby coat gleam vibrantly in it's rays of light. The medicine cat purred and let a smile fall upon her lips, meowing out her approval to her clanmate as she approached her. "I'm sure you'll be a wonderful help to me, Sorrowsong." She said gently, flicking her tail over the ebony she-cat as she walked past her, toward the entrance of camp. She stopped before exiting the tunnel, holding a paw to her mouth and licking it clean thoughtfully. "Now, we're going to be looking for the basics - Herbs you should know, but if you don't, I'll describe them to you. I need you to carry my bundles more than anything. It'll be easy, and the extra plant knowledge may serve you good at some point or another." Hazelfur mewed absnetly as she went over what her stocks held in her head. "I'm almost out of catnip, I'm sure you know what that looks like. I also need restocks of cobweb, and burdock root if we can get ahold of any. It never hurts to pick up poppy or marigold while we're out, either..." The medicine cat trailed off, talking more to herself than to Sorrowsong, making a mental list of things to look out for. Hazelfur was young, but she knew her poultices well, and she was a good medicine cat for the clan.

"I'm sure you'll be a wonderful help to me, Sorrowsong." The black cat blinked for a moment, feeling a small tingle in her whiskers, and her sad heart began to pump a little, but she kept on a disbelieving face. Her green eyes studied the other female for several long heartbeats, waiting for her to tell Sorrowsong that she was joking. However, there was just a kind smile on the medicine cat's furry face, making Sorrowsong's green eyes soften a little, and let their guard down. She had little time to realize that the she-cats tail had flicked over her, making Sorrowsong stare after the cat warily. She seemed friendly. But she wondered if it was all some sort of act, The black cat wasn't too certain of this kindness, nor was she ever treated so well. Slowly, the black She-cat followed Hazelfur towards the tunnel, then stopped a little ways away just was the medicine cat she-cat had done. She licked her chest carefully, feeling suddenly self-conscious, she looked pup occasionally at the Medicine cat. . "Now, we're going to be looking for the basics - Herbs you should know, but if you don't, I'll describe them to you. I need you to carry my bundles more than anything. It'll be easy, and the extra plant knowledge may serve you good at some point or another." She blinked at her for a moment, and her black velvet ears twitched a little, and she nodded slowly and seriously. She...She could do that...right? Her paws shifted a little, and she looked down for a few moments, but slowly nodded. "Yes...It would be helpful." she murmured, thinking about how useful that kind of knowledge would be, her black tail curling around her paws. "I'm almost out of catnip, I'm sure you know what that looks like. I also need restocks of cobweb, and burdock root if we can get ahold of any. It never hurts to pick up poppy or marigold while we're out, either..." At first, Sorrowsong was nodding to herself, imagining as many of the herbs as she know about. Catnip was an easy one, but she wasn't sure about the others, however eventually she could imagine a few of those that she listed, like poppy. Her ears fell a little, trying to remember what each did, but alas, she failed, and felt even more uncomfortable about helping the Medicine cat called Hazelfur. "Very well, wh...which one should we do first?" She asked carefully, trying not to look the cat in the eyes.

Hazelfur glanced up thoughtfully, setting her creamy paw back down and standing up as she spoke. "I think we should probably look for catmint, since you know it and it's the furthest from camp. We can collect the rest on our journey back." She swung her tail back and forth, signalling for Sorrowsong to follow her. "Come on, we can talk more about them as we go. It's a pretty long little walk." She meowed, smiling back at the black she-cat as she exited camp. Once they set out on their trek, Hazelfur shifted the conversation from herbs to something a little more interesting for a warrior. "So, Sorrowsong..How have you been? Do you have any outstanding patrols or anything to do today that I should keep in mind?" The multi-colored tabby laughed as they padded side by side, not wanting to be responsible for keeping her from her warrior duties only to do silly medicine cat tasks.

For the lot of people who just can't grasp the concept of a forum being transfered to a different location, the OLD forum will be there for a while and then we'll delete it.
Many links on THIS forum on old posts and topics DO NOT WORK anymore. That's because they are redirected to the old forum instead of the new one.
To correct this, you simply have to replace this part of the link 'www.dragonadopters.com' to this 'www.dragonadoptersforum.com'. It's as simple as that.
The rest of the link is completely the same so you don't have to change that at all.
