The blazing rays of the morning sun licked across the sky, painting it wonderful colors as it rose high into the sky. A warm breeze floated across the lands, wrapping around those that resided in the lands like a lover's caress. The brightening sky of the day allowed one to see the lushness of the bright green grass that sprouted in the meadow. Tall trees reached for the sky with their branches, always ending up so close, but so far away. It was an absolutely beautiful day and all the animals that resided in the land needed to enjoy it. One animal in particular, a honey colored she-cat, was taking advantage of the perfect morning and had ventured out of the camp -without telling anyone, might I add- and had found her way into the meadow of the sun rocks.
The she-cat's name was Honeypaw, and the fact that the suffix of her name was still 'paw' symbolized that she was still an apprentice, a cat in training to become a warrior. Technically, she was breaking the rules by leaving the camp with no say in where she was going, but, honestly? She didn't care at all what they thought. She did something wrong practically every day, and the punishments were slightly harsh, but she could live with them. It wasn't like they were going to kick her out of the clan. They couldn't do that just because she left the camp... could they? She could always just tell them that she was going out to hunt for the clan and didn't want to wake anyone up to tell them. Of course, the clan probably knew her well enough by now, and that was not something that she would do.
You see, Honeypaw loved irritating people. It was just something that she did. Today, though, it was different. She hadn't woken anybody up because she knew that it would irritate them even more if she didn't. A devilish smile flickered across her features. Oh what fun she had irritating the cats of the clan. Just to see their faces when they were yelling at her made her day complete. She let out a short laugh and broke into a run, her little form dashing across the meadow before it sprang and landed on one of the rocks. She laughed with joy and plopped down, rolling onto her back and looking up at the rainbow-painted sky, admiring it's beauty. Today was going to be a good day.

Slitherpaw dropped her squirrel, jumping as she heard some cat run through the bushes. She turned around to see that it was Honeypaw. Flattening her fur, she quickly hid her squirrel and crept a little closer. She was sitting on one of the warm rocks, clearly enjoying the sun. She seemed to be in a good mood, but then, Honeypaw always seemed to be in a good mood. Slitherpaw didn’t know Honeypaw very well; no better than she knew anyone else in the clan. From what she heard though, one of her favorite past-times was annoying every cat, all day every day, in every way possible. No one would think of letting HER out of camp alone, so Slitherpaw figured she was out without permission again. ‘You should get to know the other apprentices.’ Crowstar’s constant advice echoed through her head. He was always saying she would do better at training if she made friends with fellow apprentices, so… Feeling a mixture of foolishness and nerves, she straightened up and padded over, trying to look relaxed. “Hi Honeypaw, what are you doing here?”

A brown cat slept peacefully in his nest, snoozing away when something woke him up. The pattering of paws outside the Medicine Den woke the cat up, the footsteps fading away towards the entrance of the camp. This cat was named Snakepaw, training to learn the ways of a Medicine Cat and pass the traditions on to the next generation. Snakepaw glanced over at his mentor. Good, Hazelfur is still asleep, he thought, sneaking out of the Medicine Den. The air was warm, and the Morning Patrol was getting ready to leave. I can just tell everyone I'm going to get herbs, he thought, pushing through the barier of thorns that led away from camp. Snakepaw swished his tail as he walked down through the forest. He watched as a plump squirrel chewed an acorn from the roots of an ash tree. Snakepaw stalked it and killed it with a blow to the neck. He picked up the prey and buried it by a rock.
Snakepaw continued his walk, frowning as he thought. He would need to pick up some chickweed, for some of the elders were getting White cough. Snakepaw would also need some Deathberries to trade with BreezeClan. It was plentiful in MarshClan, and BreezeClan always needed some. Snakepaw passed a Juniper Bush. He carefully bit off the berries and turned around. Honeypaw was laying on her back, her eyes closed as the sun beat down on her face. Snakepaw shook his head as he sat there watching her. Honeypaw gets in trouble many times, and she seems to enjoy it. Snakepaw walked past her, and flicked his torn ear. She didn't seem to notice him walking by. As he got out of earshot, he muttered, "Mouse - brain." But what Snakepaw didn't see was the faint smile Honeypaw just put on her face.

The honey colored she-cats eyes were closed as the morning sun started to warm her face. The warmth felt good against her pelt and warmed her from the slightly chilly night air that had wafted over them during the night. The sun was slowly rising into the sky, starting to warm the lands. There was probably a storm threatening to blow over them, but the cats would find something productive to do. They always did. It was something that Honeypaw couldn't stand. The leader, deputy, and warriors were always trying to get something done. They never just took time to relax. It drove the apprentice crazy that she never could just take a day to relax. That was one of the reasons why she took to irritating others. It helped her relieve her stress, something that she could rarely do by just lying around and being lazy.
Honeypaw's eyes fluttered open, and she rolled over to look around. She caught sight of the medicine cat apprentice and just faintly caught his words. A light smirk crossed her face and she was about to go bounding after him, finding her next victim of irritation, when a voice hit her ears. Turning her head, she saw Slitherpaw, one of her fellow apprentices. Hi Honeypaw, what are you doing here? Her words drifted into Honeypaw's ear, and the she-cat smiled before speaking, hoping to relax the other she-cat. "Hey Slitherpaw. I'm just hanging out. Or as the older cats would say 'up to no good.' Honestly, I don't know what they're talking about when they say that. I always have good intentions." She replied, saying the last part with a slightly sarcastic tone. She knew that she was always up to no good, but she enjoyed it just the same. Giving a slightly devilish smile, she turned her attention back to Snakepaw, the medicine cat apprentice.
"Yo mouse-brain! Why don't you come join us?" She called, chuckling slightly. Oh what fun she could have annoying cats. Not that what she had just said would annoy him, she just knew that the more she talked to him, the more annoyed he would probably get. Turning back to Slitherpaw with a smile on her face, she spoke again. "So what about you? What are you doing out of the camp? They didn't send you looking for me did they?" A worried expression briefly crossed her face before she pushed it away. It wasn't that she was afraid of the clan, she just didn't want to go back to the camp. It was so relaxing there in Sun Fields, she really didn't feel like heading back. A smile again lit her face as she settled her chin on her paws to listen to the she-cat speak.

"So what about you? What are you doing out of the camp? They didn't send you looking for me did they?" Honeypaw asked, looking a little worried. So she WAS a little worried then, not completely careless ALL the time. She had called over Snakepaw, who she knew to be the medicine cat’s apprentice. Slitherpaw had always tried to stay clear of the medicine den; she didn’t enjoy going in there, constantly being poked and prodded and asked questions about her health. ‘Are your wounds healed over well? Do any of your joints hurt? Do you feel ok? Should a get you something for pain?’ It drove her in circles more than any routine chores she had to do. Slitherpaw could tell by the look on Honeypaws face she was only talking to her in hopes of annoying her, but nonetheless she decided to try to keep a conversation going for once. Surely she of all cats could withstand Honeypaws schemes. Sure she was jumpy, but it was hard to get into her head. “No, they are not looking for you. I was just out hunting; I didn’t feel like being in camp.” She said, trying once more to seem more confident than she was feeling.

Snakepaw flicked his ears at the sound of Honeypaw's voice. He kept walking and padded through the entrance to camp. Then, he remembered. When Honeypaw yelled at him as he walked away, he just passed the rock where he had buried the squirrel. He groaned. That means Honeypaw would be waiting for him. He was about to go out of camp when Hazelfur noticed him. "Hey Snakepaw, did you get any herbs when you left this morning?" she asked, walking towards him. "Yes," he mumbled, almost forgetting the Juniper berries in his mouth. He dropped them in front of his mentor. Hazelfur rolled them away to the Medicine Den, a few kits helping. Snakepaw left camp, then shot out into a run. He heard the familiar thud of his paws, and his heart racing. Snakepaw slowed down, getting closer to the rock. He hoped Honeypaw was gone, but she was still there, waiting and talking with Slitherpaw.

The sun was warm on the young apprentice's back as she basked in the sun. Before long, the sun would be high above them and far too hot to be lying out on a hot rock. But that was some time away, still, and Honeypaw had time to relax and warm up before she had to go back to the camp and accept her punishment. The thought actually amused her rather than frightened her and she smiled, off in her own thoughts. It was going to be too fun for her when she was being yelled at. Quite frankly, she would probably have to hide her laughter because she was in that good of a mood, and irritating someone would only make that mood ten times better. Her smile still lit her face as she focused her eyes back on Slitherpaw, remembering that she was in the middle of a conversation with her.
No, they are not looking for you. I was just out hunting; I didn’t feel like being in camp. The apprentice's soprano tones hit Honeypaw's ears, making the young she-cat smile. "No one in their right mind would feel like being stuck in that stupid camp." She said, taking on a disgusted tone,"Like, really, how do the elders survive. I would rather be dead than be stuck in there all day." A laugh floated out of her throat, and she looked around, her eyes filled with slight amusement. She sighed, looking up at the brightening sky with a smile on her face, before she looked back at Slitherpaw. "You know? You're not half bad, Slitherpaw. I think I could come to like you..."
Her voice trailed off as she caught sight of movement out of the corner of her eye. A brown ball of fluff was walking toward the rock where he had left his squirrel. Amusement again lit her face and she got another urge to irritate him. "Hey, hey! Look who came back for more! I just knew you couldn't resist us." Honeypaw called, a devilish smile lighting up her face. Snakepaw coming back had made her day, and she hoped that he would stick around. Irritating him was fun for her, and she hoped that he would snap soon. She smirked at the thought. When they snapped and started yelling was always the most fun part about irritating someone for her, and she would just laugh away at his irritation if he decided that he couldn't take any more of her schemes.

“Hey, hey! Look who came back for more! I just knew you couldn't resist us." Honeypaw meowed, looking happy. However, Slitherpaw was not focusing on that much. Her previous words were still in her head. ‘You know? You're not half bad, Slitherpaw. I think I could come to like you.’ Had she really said that? That was not something one expected to hear from Honeypaw… She pretty much hated everyone. At least that’s the way that it seemed. She shook her head (as she always did when trying to make herself focus) and tried to remember what they were doing. Oh right, Snakepaw was here. The fluffy brown apprentice was walking towards us, looking disappointed. No doubt he was hoping Honeypaw would be gone when he came back. Slitherpaw felt bad, she should have reminded him of the squirrel when he was here before, but she had been to intent upon impressing Honeypaw. ‘If he asks me one question about my health, I swear…’ she thought. She fought to keep from wrinkling her nose, he brought the scents of the medicine den with him. It made her skin crawl, but she tried to look natural; after all, she wouldn’t want him to think she hated him PERSONALLY. “Hi Snakepaw, for get something?” She asked, forgetting to speak up, confidently, and coming off as her usual shy and jumpy self. ‘Oh I’ll get myself for that…’ she thought.

Snakepaw snorted, annoyed at Honeypaw. He took a glance at Slitherpaw. For some reason, Slitherpaw seemed kind of jumpy about being him. Had she been avoiding the Medicine Den? Snakepaw shook his head. Slitherpaw would have to come sooner or later. He looked at Honeypaw, seeing her mysterious smile on her face. "Just picking up my squirrel," he grunted, digging up the buried squirrel. Snakepaw frowned and grasped the prey in his mouth. I better get back to camp before Honeypaw can get to me, he thought, about ready to go to camp.

It wasn't that Honeypaw hated everyone and everything, though one might come to believe that, it was just that she found it interesting to irritate cats and watch their reaction to her. It was fun for her to listen as their words of ice pierced her ears, and as they went on and on about how terrible she was and how stupid and foolish she was, she would just laugh at them and roll her eyes before stalking off to find something better to do. She almost never did the punishments that she was given, for she knew that she would find boredom in doing them. All the punishments that she was given were no fun, and she always just wanted to... Well have fun. Was that so much to ask? Honeypaw rolled her eyes. Obviously it is... She thought as her mind focused on her surroundings again.
Hi Snakepaw, forget something? Slitherpaw's words seemed tentative and jumpy in Honeypaw's ears, and she flashed a glance at the other apprentice, a brow raised in question. Was the true side of the she-cat really coming out? Honeypaw shook her head, clearing the thought from her mind before she smirked, stretching as Snakepaw answered the other she-cat. Just picking up my squirrel. Was all he said as he dug up his kill from where he had left it. Honeypaw yawned greatly before she spoke, stretching out her legs as she did so. "You know... I don't think it's fair that you talk to Slitherpaw, but you don't even say 'hello' to me. It's quite rude, if you ask me..." She said, leaping down from the rock and prancing over to him, stopping in front of him to block his path.
Her side was to him, and she turned her head to look at him, batting her eyelashes innocently. "It hurts my feelings that you won't talk to me, Snakepaw. I haven't done anything to you, and yet you ignore me." She said with fake sadness in her voice. A light smirk crossed her face before she bounded away to her rock again, pouncing onto it with great ease. She enjoyed being above them because she could see everything. Plus, having her small form being higher than them showed a little dominance, though she knew that she was not the most dominant of the clan, she could at least be the most dominant of the apprentices. A small smile slid across her maw as she sat down, wrapping her tail around her and resting it over her paws as she watched the other two cats.

Slitherpaw barely heard Snakepaw and Honeypaws conversation; it seemed a distant echo in her ears. She didn’t feel inclined to listen, even when her name was mentioned. (Though she didn’t appreciate being used to annoy Snakepaw.) She watched Honeypaw closely; she was an interesting cat. She didn’t seem to be a BAD cat, just mischievous. It was rather kit-like, but she had no room to talk, as Crowstar was constantly complaining about her own kit-like personality. She nearly jumped out of her fur as a frog suddenly jumped a tail length from her, startling her from her thoughts. She smoothed her fur, and looked up to see Honeypaw sitting arrogantly on top of a rock. Something about her proud posture made Slitherpaws skin crawl. Suddenly, an idea from nowhere popped into her head. “Hey, I have an idea.” She said, her voice still shaky from her surprise a few moments ago, “How about we have a hunting competition?” She took a moment to steady her voice a little, but it still came out tense. “Or some fighting practice?”

"Okay, fine. Hello, Honeypaw. Can I go now?" Snakepaw growled, dropping his prey. He picked the squirrel back up and accidentally steped on a stick. It cracked and Slitherpaw jumped in fright. Wow, I wonder why she's so jumpy, Snakepaw thought, looking up at the sun. It was almost sunhigh. He decided to stay. Honeypaw was clever, and she would do anything to keep him here; including the pranks she could pull, which could also be a trap. "Okay, fine Honeypaw, what do you want?" Snakepaw said, sitting down and wrapping his tail over his paws.

The sun was rising higher in the sky, and as Honeypaw stared up at it, she knew that someone would soon be out looking for her. If not, though, than it was her lucky day, but she'd have to return to camp sooner or later -though she preferred later- and that would only be fun while she was being yelled at by a warrior or their leader, Crowstar. A sigh of regret escaped her lips as she returned her attention to the other two cats. Her gaze rested on Slitherpaw for a moment, and she wondered why the other she-cat was so jumpy all of a sudden. Did she have a crush on Snakepaw or something? That forced her attention to Snakepaw, and as her eyes raked across his body, she realized that he wasn't a bad-looking cat. Of course, she didn't have enough interest in him to become mates with him -they were far to young for that- but he was one of the better looking apprentice males in MarshClan.
Okay, fine. Hello, Honeypaw. Can I go now? His words were formed into a growl, and Honeypaw knew that he was so close to snapping. She could almost feel the anger radiating off of him in waves. A soft chuckle escaped the she-cat's lips and she shook her head, flicking her tail. He wouldn't get an answer out of her, for he could go if he'd like, but he couldn't escape her. They lived in the same camp, and, already, so many ideas floated through her brain as of how to annoy him most. Okay, fine Honeypaw, what do you want? Again, his words made her laugh, and she turned her copper gaze on him. "Why, Snakepaw... There's really no need to be so bitter. And I don't want anything..." Her words were filled with fake innocence again as she fluttered her eyes at him.
Suddenly, her attention snapped back to Slitherpaw as the apprentice spoke. Hey, I have an idea. How about we have a hunting competition? Or some fighting practice? The words made a smile slither across her lips, and she looked down at Slitherpaw, nodding in approval. "That sounds like a great idea, Slitherpaw! We could have both! A hunting competition first and then a fighting competition after that!" She said, standing up and flicking her tail in excitement before she caught sight of Snakepaw again and her smile turned into a smirk. "Care to join us, mouse-brain. Or are you too scared you're gonna be shown up by a couple of girls?" She called, chuckling and looking to both cats to see if they were in or not.

Slitherpaw lit up at the idea of some practice with her fellow apprentices. Finally, maybe she was getting somewhere after all! "All right, so how about, the fist one to be back here with three pieces of prey is the winner?" She suggested. That seems reasonable, right? She wasn't very used to socializing much, but she enjoyed it, despite her creeping nerves. She had been out to hunt anyway, and this would be a lot of prey for the clan! She gentle wind blew the sound of the waterfall to her ears, and for the first time, she felt truly relaxed. She watched as Honeypaw and Snakepaw ran the idea over in their minds, feeling a bit sorry for Snakepaw, as it was obvious he wanted to leave. She jumped up onto a rock near Honeypaw and relished the bright sun, warm on her back. She was relaxed, but only for a few seconds. A rabbit shot by the rock she was on, and she jumped and slid off the rock, landing hard and shaking her head. "Great starclan, can a cat ever have a break?" She meowed hopelessly; Hopelessly, but laughingly. She got up and let out a purr of laughter. "Anyways, how about that competition?"

Snakepaw tilted his head, making a decision. Then he realized the squirrel sitting in front of him, getting colder the more time that passed. He sighed. "Okay, I'll join in. But will one of you be kind, enough to bring my squirrel to camp?" he said, saying 'kind' like it was poison. He flicked his tail to the piece of prey, and glanced at each of the she-cats. If Honeypaw went, he can scout ahead real quick to find the best place to hunt. If Slitherpaw went, then Honeypaw can bother him and end up calling me a mouse-heart. Snakepaw gave a few quick licks to his short mud brown fur and waited for an answer.
